【家業が寿司屋なんですか？】
いいえ違います。私は富山の田舎に生まれ育ったので六本木の寿司屋とは縁もゆかりもありません。
寿司屋オーナーになった経緯は、元々社員として入社した会社で、飲食部門の一店舗である今のお店の責任者として働くことになり、お店のコンセプトもお寿司とBARの融合という斬新さもあり、前職でお世話になったお客様がたくさん来てくれて、初月から高い売上をたたき出し、そののちも好調をキープ。
そんな時に、2011年、大震災が起きます。
店自体の実被害は少なかったけど、経営的なダメージはかなり。
会社が持っていた店舗はうちだけではなく、他の店舗も相当な経営ダメージでした。
そこで本社が下した決断は、飲食部門、全店舗撤退でした。
無職になるのかと思いきや、そこで社長が言ってくれたのは、私の独立。
本社の勝手な意向ということで、格安の金額で、更に会社に借金という形で独立を勧められました。
一か月ほど本当に悩み、独立を決意。
こうして寿司屋のオーナーとなりました。
世の中には、自分のお店を持つにあたって、コツコツと努力を重ね、その努力が山となった時点で満を持してお店を出す人もいるでしょう。「自分のお店を持つ」ということを考えた時にほとんどの人がその経緯を想像すると思います。私もそうでした。
でも今思うのは、世の中の店舗オーナーのほとんどは、何かしらのチャンスや転機を機に自分の店を持っている人が多いのではないかと思います。
チャンスはいつどこで降ってくるかわからない。
見ている人は見ている。
そしてチャンスは天からくるのではない、人からくる。
これが私が寿司屋オーナーになった経緯です。
この後に計り知れない苦労が待っていることも知らずに…。
